Loved Before We Respond
Before doing anything for God, we need to understand something fundamental: we are already loved by Him. Our identity does not begin with what we do, but with what God has declared about us.
Reflection
Many times, we live trying to prove our worth: we seek approval, recognition, or the feeling that we are enough. But God’s love works differently. He does not love us because we have reached a certain spiritual level or because we have done everything correctly; He loves us because we are His children and because His nature is love. When we understand that we are loved before we respond, serve, or obey, we stop living under pressure and begin living from gratitude. Obedience stops being a way to earn acceptance and becomes a response to the love we have already received.
Practical application
Before beginning your day, remember this truth: God loves you not because of what you do, but because of who you are in Him. Take a moment to thank Him for calling you His child.
Prayer
Beloved Father, thank You because Your love for me does not depend on my perfection or my achievements. Help me rest in the identity You have given me as Your child. Remove from my heart the need to seek constant approval, and teach me to live with the security of knowing that I am loved by You. May my actions flow from gratitude and not from trying to earn a love You have already freely given me. Amen.
