Seeking God’s Purpose

5 min read
Matthew 6:33

Finding God’s purpose requires seeking His will first and trusting that He directs every step of our lives.

Reflection

God’s purpose is not discovered only through our plans or personal desires, but through a close relationship with Him. Jesus taught that we should seek first the Kingdom of God and His righteousness, showing that the priority of our lives should be to know and follow the Lord’s will. Many times, we want to discover our purpose before surrendering our plans to God, but He invites us to trust His direction and allow Him to transform our desires according to His plans. Seeking God’s purpose involves prayer, obedience, and a willingness to hear His voice through His Word. When we place the Lord at the center, our decisions begin to align with what we were created for. God not only shows us what to do, but also forms our character throughout the process.

Practical application

Reflect today on how you are seeking direction for your life and consider whether you are making God the priority in your decisions.

Prayer

Beloved Father, thank You because You have a perfect purpose for my life and desire to guide every step I take. Help me seek You before my own desires and trust Your plans even when I cannot see everything clearly. Teach me to hear Your voice, obey Your Word, and walk according to Your will. Remove every anxiety about controlling my future and allow me to rest in Your direction. May my life fulfill the purpose for which You created me and glorify Your name in everything I do. Amen.

To reflect on

Am I seeking God’s purpose with a heart willing to obey, or do I only want Him to confirm my own plans?
