Trusting in the Rule of Christ
Christ sustains and governs all things, so we can rest even when the world seems uncertain.
Reflection
One of the greatest sources of human anxiety is the feeling that everything is out of control. We observe changes, problems, and situations we cannot resolve, and our hearts begin to fill with fear. However, the Bible reveals that Christ is neither absent nor limited by circumstances. He is before all things, and everything remains under His authority. Trusting in Christ’s rule does not mean we will always understand what is happening, but that we believe there is a wise and good King who sustains history. The first believers found hope in the midst of persecution because they knew Jesus reigned above every human power. In the same way, we can face difficult times with confidence because our security does not depend on everything being under our control, but on everything being under Christ’s control.
Practical application
Surrender to God a worry in which you feel a lack of control and remember that Christ continues to rule over all things.
Prayer
Beloved Father, thank You because my life and the entire world are under the authority of Christ. When fear tries to dominate my heart, help me remember that Jesus still reigns and that nothing escapes His hands. Teach me to rest in Your sovereignty and trust Your purposes even when I do not understand what is happening. May my faith be greater than my circumstances. Amen.
