Created for Good Works
God saved us by grace and also gave us a purpose: to live a life that reflects His love through good works.
Reflection
Salvation is a gift from God that we cannot earn through our efforts, but that same grace produces a life with purpose. Paul teaches that we are God’s workmanship, a work created in Christ Jesus with a definite intention. Good works are not the cause of our salvation, but the result of having been transformed by it. When Christ changes our hearts, He also changes the way we relate to others and to the world around us. God prepares opportunities for His love to be shown through our actions, words, and service. This means our daily lives have spiritual value: our work, family, relationships, and decisions can become instruments to glorify God. Being created for good works means living aware that we were called to reflect Christ wherever He places us.
Practical application
Look for a specific opportunity today to serve, help, or show Christ’s love to someone who needs it.
Prayer
Beloved Father, thank You because in Christ You gave me not only salvation, but also purpose. Help me understand that my life has an eternal calling and that every action done in love can glorify You. Free me from living centered only on myself and teach me to serve with a willing heart. May my words and works reflect the grace I have received from You. Amen.
