Christ Is Lord of All

Christ does not occupy merely an important place in our lives; He deserves first place in everything.

Reflection

Recognizing Jesus as Lord means much more than calling Him Savior. It means accepting that He has authority over every area of our existence. In a culture that constantly invites us to live according to our own desires, the lordship of Christ calls us to surrender our will to the true King. Jesus does not seek to be merely another part of our lives, but the center from which everything else finds its purpose. When Christ has preeminence, our decisions, priorities, and relationships begin to align with His will. This does not represent a loss of freedom, but the discovery of true life under the rule of the One who loves us perfectly. The first disciples understood that following Jesus meant recognizing Him as Lord above every other authority. That same invitation remains today: to completely surrender our lives to the One who has all authority.

Practical application

Identify an area of your life in which Christ needs greater preeminence and surrender it to Him in prayer.

Prayer

Lord Jesus, I recognize that You are worthy to occupy first place in my life. Forgive me for the times I have wanted to direct my own paths and keep areas under my control. Help me surrender my heart, plans, and decisions before You. May Your lordship transform the way I live, and may everything within me reflect that I belong to the King who rules over all things. Amen.
