When God Says Yes and When God Says No

God’s authority is also revealed in His answers. He knows what we need and responds from His perfect wisdom, even when His answer is not what we expected.

Reflection

One of the most difficult parts of our relationship with God is accepting that His answers do not always match our desires. Many times, we pray expecting a specific result and think that a different answer means God did not hear us or was not good to us. Yet the Bible shows us that God always responds from His love and perfect knowledge. Paul asked God to remove a difficulty from his life, but the Lord’s answer was different from what he expected: God did not remove the situation, but gave him the grace he needed to walk through it. A “no” from God does not mean rejection, and a season of waiting does not mean abandonment. His authority allows Him to see what we cannot see. When we trust Him, we learn that His answers always have a purpose, even when they require patience, surrender, or deeper faith.

Practical application

Present a request before God and also ask Him for a heart willing to accept His will, trusting that He knows what is best.

Prayer

Beloved Father, help me trust Your answers, even when they are not what I expected. Teach me to remember that Your love is not measured by whether I receive exactly what I ask for, but by Your constant presence in my life. Give me humility to accept Your timing, Your ways, and Your decisions. May my heart learn to rest in the truth that You always seek my true good. Amen.
