God Is Good Even in the Waiting
Waiting is rarely easy. We all want immediate answers, but God often works during seasons of waiting to shape our character and strengthen our faith.
Reflection
When God delays answering a prayer, it is easy to think He has forgotten us. However, waiting never means absence. While we count the days, God continues working in ways we often cannot see. The Bible is filled with men and women who learned this lesson. Abraham waited for the promise of a son, Joseph waited years before seeing the dreams God had given him fulfilled, and David waited a long time before becoming king. None of those seasons of waiting was wasted. In each one, God was preparing both the circumstances and the hearts of His children. His goodness is also revealed when He says, “not yet.” If we received everything immediately, we would never learn to depend on Him. Waiting teaches us to trust, persevere, and discover that God is enough even before receiving what we have prayed for. When the answer finally comes, we understand that God’s timing was always better than ours.
Practical application
Today, surrender again to the Lord what you have been waiting for and choose to trust that His timing will always be perfect.
Prayer
Lord, teach me to wait patiently. Do not allow anxiety to make me forget Your goodness. While I wait for Your answer, strengthen my faith and help me rest in the truth that You are still working even when I cannot see it. Give me a peaceful heart to trust Your timing and remember that Your plans are always better than mine. In Jesus’ name. Amen.
