God Can Transform a Stubborn Heart

5 min read
Ezekiel 36:26

God has the power to transform even the most resistant hearts and produce a new willingness to listen, obey, and walk with Him.

Reflection

Stubbornness can become a barrier that keeps us from fully experiencing God’s work in our lives. A hardened heart insists on its own ways and resists correction, but God’s promise is that He can change even what seems impossible. Through the prophet Ezekiel, the Lord promised to remove the heart of stone and give a heart sensitive to His presence. This transformation does not depend only on our willpower, but on God’s work within us. He can change our motives, renew our thoughts, and teach us to respond with obedience. Many times, we try to change through our own effort, but true transformation begins when we surrender our hearts to the Lord and allow His Spirit to work within us. A transformed heart is not perfect, but it is willing to learn, accept correction, and follow God’s ways.

Practical application

Reflect today on the areas where your heart has resisted God and allow Him to do a new work within you.

Prayer

Beloved Father, thank You because Your power can transform my heart and change the areas where I have resisted Your direction. Forgive me for the times I have insisted on my own ways and closed my ears to Your voice. I surrender my heart to You and ask You to remove everything that keeps me from obeying. Renew my thoughts, strengthen my spirit, and form within me a heart sensitive to Your will. May my life reflect the transformation only You can produce. Amen.

To reflect on

Am I allowing God to transform my heart, or am I still resisting the areas where He wants to work within me?
