God Reigns Over All Things
God is not limited by circumstances, world events, or our own concerns. He continues to be the sovereign King over all creation.
Reflection
Throughout human history, we have seen changes, crises, and situations that seem out of control. Yet the Bible reminds us of a truth that remains firm: God still reigns. His authority does not depend on people recognizing it or on circumstances being favorable. He rules because He is the Creator and Sustainer of everything that exists. When we forget this truth, we are easily dominated by fear and anxiety because we begin living as though everything depended on us. But when we recognize that God is on His throne, we find rest. His sovereignty means that nothing happens outside His knowledge and that none of His purposes can be frustrated. This does not mean we understand every situation, but that we can trust the One who has an eternal and perfect perspective. Living under God’s authority allows us to face the present with faith and look toward the future with hope.
Practical application
Consider a concern you have been carrying and surrender it to God, remembering that He is still in control.
Prayer
Beloved Father, today I acknowledge that You are King over all things. Forgive me when I allow fear to make me forget Your power and authority. Help me rest in the assurance that nothing escapes Your hands and that Your plans are always good. Teach me to live trusting in Your sovereignty and to walk each day with the peace that comes from knowing You rule over my life. In Jesus’ name. Amen.
