Joseph’s Example in the Face of Temptation

Joseph’s story gives us an example of integrity in the face of strong temptation. When Potiphar’s wife tried to seduce him, Joseph understood that giving in would not only be a wrong against another person, but also a sin against God. His response reveals a heart that valued faithfulness to the Lord more than the satisfaction of a temporary desire. Joseph did not deny the reality of temptation, but chose to act according to his convictions and not according to his impulses. This example reminds us that purity and faithfulness begin with a right relationship with God. The decisions we make in secret reveal the condition of our hearts and our reverence for Him. Integrity is built daily through small acts of obedience and dependence on God.
