The Call to Bear Fruit
God calls us to remain in Christ so we can bear fruit that reflects His character and glorifies His name.
Reflection
The Christian life was not designed to remain barren, but to produce fruit that demonstrates God’s work in our hearts. Jesus taught that apart from Him we can do nothing, showing that true spiritual fruit is born from a close and continual relationship with Christ. Fruit is not produced through human effort alone, but through the work of the Holy Spirit transforming the way we think, act, and relate to others. Patience, love, goodness, and obedience are evidence of a life connected to God. Bearing fruit also means using our lives to bless others and fulfill the purpose the Lord has entrusted to us. When we remain in Christ, He produces changes within us that reveal His presence and bring glory to God.
Practical application
Reflect today on the fruit your life is producing and consider whether you are remaining close enough to Christ for Him to transform your character.
Prayer
Beloved Father, thank You because in Christ I find the source of true and purposeful life. Help me remain close to You and allow Your Spirit to produce fruit in my heart. Transform my thoughts, words, and actions so they reflect Your character. Teach me not to depend only on my own strength, but on Your power working within me. May my life become a blessing to others, and may every fruit it produces glorify Your name. Amen.
