True Rest Is Found in God
Jesus offers not only rest from our circumstances, but rest for a weary heart that needs to find security in God again.
Reflection
The deepest weariness of the human heart does not always come from physical effort. Many times, we carry worries, guilt, fears, and responsibilities that gradually wear down our hearts. We try to keep moving forward in our own strength, but a moment comes when we recognize that we need more than a temporary solution. Jesus offered a different invitation: He did not call people to carry more weight, but to come to Him and find rest. The rest Christ offers does not mean a life without problems, but a new way of facing life, knowing that we do not have to carry alone what overwhelms us. When we surrender our burdens to the Lord, we learn to trust in His care and stop living under the rule of anxiety. True rest is born when the heart finds its safe place in God.
Practical application
Identify a burden you have been carrying alone and surrender it to Jesus in prayer today.
Prayer
Lord Jesus, many times I try to carry burdens You never intended me to carry alone. Thank You because You invite me to come to You when I am weary and because in Your presence I find true rest. Help me surrender my worries, fears, and everything that weighs on my heart. Teach me to trust in Your care and to live with the peace of knowing that You sustain my life. Amen.
