Chosen by God in Christ
God chose us in Christ with an eternal purpose: to live a transformed life that reflects His love and holiness.
Reflection
The idea of being chosen by God reveals something profound about our identity: our relationship with Him did not begin by chance and does not depend only on our efforts. Before we existed, God already knew and had a purpose for those who would be united to Christ. This truth should not produce pride, but humility and gratitude, because everything begins with God’s grace. Being chosen in Christ does not mean living with superiority over others, but understanding that we have received a responsibility: to reflect the character of the One who called us. Peter reminded believers that we are a people purchased by God to proclaim His virtues. Our election has a missionary and transforming purpose. God not only rescues us from something; He also calls us into a new way of living, marked by His love, holiness, and eternal purpose.
Practical application
Meditate today on the privilege and responsibility of having been called by God to live in Christ.
Prayer
Beloved Father, thank You because in Christ You have called me by Your grace and given me a purpose greater than myself. Help me live with humility, gratitude, and obedience, remembering that everything I am comes from You. May my life reflect the character of Christ, and may I fulfill the purpose for which You called me. Teach me to live as someone who belongs completely to You. Amen.
