Stability Founded on God

5 min read
Psalm 62:6

God is the firm foundation of our lives and enables us to remain stable even when we face change and difficulty.

Reflection

Life is filled with situations that can change from one moment to the next. Economic circumstances, family problems, important decisions, or seasons of uncertainty can make us feel that our security is being shaken. Yet the Bible reminds us that true stability does not depend on circumstances, but on the foundation upon which our lives are built. David compared God to a firm rock, a secure place where he could remain even in difficulty. When we trust the Lord, we find stability that does not mean the absence of problems, but the assurance that we have support that never changes. God remains constant when everything around us seems to move and enables us to walk confidently because our security is placed in Him.

Practical application

Reflect today on what is affecting your stability and ask whether your foundation is truly in God.

Prayer

Beloved Father, thank You because You are my rock and refuge at all times. When circumstances change or I face uncertainty, help me remain firm in You. Remove anxiety from my heart and teach me to build my life on Your promises and faithfulness. Strengthen my trust, direct my steps, and allow me to experience the security that comes from knowing You never change. May my stability always be founded on Your presence. Amen.

To reflect on

Am I building my security on temporary things or on the firm foundation that is God?
