Making Disciples

Christ’s calling does not end when a person believes in Him; we are also called to help others grow and follow in His steps.

Reflection

Before ascending to heaven, Jesus gave His followers a mission that remains in force: to make disciples. This means accompanying other people on their journey of faith, helping them know Christ, understand His Word, and grow in a deeper relationship with God. Discipleship does not consist only of transmitting information, but of investing our lives in others through example, teaching, and companionship. Jesus Himself demonstrated this model by devoting time to His disciples, walking with them, correcting them, and preparing them to continue the work after Him. Many times, we may think forming disciples is the exclusive responsibility of leaders or teachers, but every believer is called to spiritually influence those God places around them. Making disciples begins with living a life others can observe and being willing to share what God has done within us. A community grows when believers not only receive, but also help others move forward in faith. God’s purpose is for the message of Christ to continue reaching generation after generation through transformed people who help transform others.

Prayer

Beloved Father, thank You because You have allowed me to know Christ and receive the hope of the gospel. Help me understand that my calling is not only to receive Your love, but also to share it with others. Give me wisdom, patience, and humility to accompany the people You place in my path. May my life be an example that inspires others to draw near to You. Teach me to invest time, love, and effort in forming disciples who know Your truth and live for Your glory. Amen.
