Honoring the Only Begotten Son

5 min read
John 5:23

Jesus deserves the same honor that belongs to the Father because He fully reveals God and possesses divine authority.

Reflection

Honoring Christ means recognizing who He is and giving Him the place He deserves in our lives. The Bible teaches that the Father Himself desires the Son to be honored because there is no separation between knowing God and recognizing Jesus Christ. Some people may admire Jesus’ teachings, appreciate His example, or seek His help, but Scripture calls us to something much deeper: to offer Him our worship and obedience. Jesus is not merely a means of receiving blessings; He is the center of our faith and the Lord worthy of all honor. When we honor Christ, our lives begin to align with the reality of who He is. Our decisions, priorities, and actions reveal whether we truly recognize His authority. Honoring the Son means living with the awareness that our entire existence belongs to the One who loved us and gave us salvation.

Practical application

Find a practical way today to honor Jesus through a decision, attitude, or action that reflects your love for Him.

Prayer

Beloved Father, thank You because You gave us Your only begotten Son to reveal Your love and bring salvation. Help me honor Jesus not only with my words, but with my whole life. May my heart recognize His greatness, may my decisions reflect His lordship, and may my worship be a sincere response to the love He showed me. Teach me always to give Him the first place He deserves. Amen.

To reflect on

Am I honoring Jesus as Lord of my life, or am I only seeking Him for what He can do for me?
