Jesus Is the Eternal Son of God
Jesus did not begin to exist in Bethlehem; He is the eternal Son of God, who existed before creation and reveals the glory of the Father.
Reflection
The greatness of Christ extends far beyond His earthly life. Although He was born as a child in Bethlehem and walked among us as a man, Scripture reveals that Jesus existed from eternity. He was not merely sent by God; He is God made flesh, the perfect expression of the Father’s character. This truth completely changes the way we see Jesus. We do not follow only a wise teacher or spiritual leader, but the eternal Son who participated in creation and came to reconcile humanity to God. John begins his Gospel by showing that before the world existed, Christ was already with the Father. When we contemplate who Jesus is, our worship grows because we understand that the One who loves us is also the Lord of all creation.
Practical application
Read John 1:1-14 and meditate on the greatness of Christ as the eternal Son of God.
Prayer
Beloved Father, thank You because in Jesus Christ we can know Your heart perfectly. Help me see Jesus not only as my Savior, but as my Lord and my God. May the greatness of Christ increase my faith, worship, and trust in Him. Teach me to live with reverence and gratitude for the gift of having a relationship with the eternal Son who came to seek us. Amen.
