Anxiety and Trust in God

5 min read
Proverbs 3:5-6

Trust in God helps us face anxiety by remembering that He directs our path and sustains our lives.

Reflection

Anxiety often appears when we feel we must control everything happening around us. We want to know every detail of the future, find every answer, and resolve every situation through our own strength. Yet the Bible invites us to trust God with all our hearts and recognize that His wisdom is greater than ours. Trusting the Lord does not mean we will have no difficulties, but that we know we are not alone when we face them. When we stop depending only on our own understanding and surrender our ways to God, we find a new perspective filled with peace. He knows what we cannot see, directs our steps, and remains faithful even in uncertainty. Anxiety loses strength when we remember that our lives are in the hands of a good and wise God.

Practical application

Reflect today on the areas where you are trying to control everything and surrender them again to the Lord, trusting His direction.

Prayer

Beloved Father, thank You because I can rest in You and because Your wisdom is greater than my understanding. Help me trust You when anxiety tries to fill my heart with fear and uncertainty. Forgive me for the times I have tried to control my path without seeking Your direction. Teach me to surrender my plans, worries, and decisions to You. Guide my steps, strengthen my faith, and remind me that Your will is always good. May my heart find rest in knowing that You are in control of my life. Amen.

To reflect on

Am I trusting God completely, or am I still trying to control through my own strength what I should surrender to Him?
