From creation, God established that it was not good for man to be alone and created woman as a suitable helper for him. This expression does not represent inferiority, but an appropriate, valuable, and complementary companion within God’s purpose. A wife has a foundational role within marriage by contributing wisdom, support, love, and strength through the different stages of life. Marriage was designed for husband and wife to walk together, support one another, and recognize that both have special value before the Lord. Being a suitable helper means building together, sharing responsibilities, and seeking the other person’s well-being. When a wife lives from the identity God has given her, she can positively influence her home and strengthen marital unity.
