Do Not Forget God’s Faithfulness

5 min read
Psalm 78:11

Remembering God’s faithfulness strengthens our faith and helps us overcome unbelief in difficult moments.

Reflection

One cause of unbelief is forgetting what God has already done in our lives. The Bible shows that the people of Israel experienced great demonstrations of God’s power, yet frequently forgot His works and allowed present difficulties to weaken their trust. This teaching also applies to us because we often remember our problems more easily than the times God sustained us, answered our prayers, or showed His faithfulness. Spiritual memory is an important tool for strengthening faith. When we remember the Lord’s fulfilled promises, we find hope for present challenges. God does not change; the same God who was present in our past continues accompanying us in the present and future. Gratitude and the remembrance of His faithfulness help us view circumstances from a perspective filled with trust.

Practical application

Reflect today on the times God has been faithful to you and take a moment to remember His works before allowing difficulty to weaken your faith.

Prayer

Beloved Father, thank You because Your faithfulness remains in every stage of my life. Forgive me for the times I have forgotten Your works and allowed my circumstances to become greater than my trust in You. Help me remember Your blessings, Your answers, and the times You sustained my path. Renew my faith and teach me to live with a grateful heart. May my memory always be filled with testimonies of Your love, and may I trust You even when I face new challenges. Amen.

To reflect on

Am I remembering God’s faithfulness in my life, or am I allowing present difficulties to make me forget what He has already done?
