The Mother as a Refuge of Love
A mother can become a refuge of love for her children by reflecting the tenderness, care, and compassion that come from God.
Reflection
A mother’s love often becomes a place of security where children find comfort, support, and acceptance. The Bible uses the image of motherly love to show us an expression of God’s tenderness toward His children. A mother who seeks the Lord can become an instrument of His love by offering encouraging words, care in difficult moments, and a consistent presence that brings confidence. Being a refuge does not mean preventing every difficulty in life, but accompanying children in love and helping them find strength in God. Through small daily acts, a mother can communicate security, teach values, and show that the home can be a place where Christ’s love is experienced.
Practical application
Reflect today on how you are providing love and security to your children and consider how you can reflect more of God’s tenderness within your home.
Prayer
Beloved Father, thank You because Your love is perfect and constant. Help me reflect that love within my family and become a source of comfort and support to my children. Give me sensitivity to hear their needs, patience to accompany their processes, and wisdom to guide them toward You. May my home be a place where they experience love, acceptance, and the assurance that God is present. Amen.
