Intercessory Prayer
Intercessory prayer is an expression of love in which we present the needs of others before God and seek His blessing over their lives.
Reflection
Intercessory prayer reminds us that our relationship with God should not focus only on our own needs, but also on the well-being of those around us. The Bible shows many examples of people who prayed for others, demonstrating love, compassion, and spiritual commitment. Abraham interceded for Sodom, Moses prayed for the people of Israel, and Jesus Himself prayed for His disciples. To intercede means to stand before God on behalf of others, trusting that He can work in their lives in ways we cannot. This practice strengthens our hearts because it helps us develop greater sensitivity toward the needs of others and turns us into instruments of love and spiritual support. When we pray for others, we participate in God’s work and reflect Christ’s compassionate heart.
Practical application
Reflect today on the people God has placed in your life and consider how you can support them spiritually through prayer.
Prayer
Beloved Father, thank You because You allow me to draw near to You not only for my own needs, but also to bring the lives of others before You. Place within my heart love and compassion for those who need Your help, comfort, and direction. Teach me to intercede with faith, perseverance, and a sincere heart. May my prayers become an instrument of blessing, and may I reflect Christ’s love by caring for others. Amen.
