Religiosity can become dangerous when it replaces a true relationship with God. It is possible to know rules, participate in spiritual activities, and maintain a correct appearance while having a heart far from the Lord. Jesus confronted this attitude in people who honored God with their words while their hearts remained distant from Him. True faith is not merely fulfilling outward actions, but living in a daily relationship with God and allowing Him to transform our inner lives. Spiritual practices have value when they arise from a heart that loves the Lord and seeks to please Him. God does not desire a faith based only on customs, but a life surrendered to Him. When our relationship with God is genuine, our actions stop being an obligation and become a response of love and gratitude for His grace.
