Unity in Marriage
Unity in marriage is strengthened when husband and wife walk with God together, supporting one another with love and commitment.
Reflection
Marriage was designed by God as a relationship of companionship in which two people decide to walk together toward a shared purpose. Marital unity does not mean the absence of differences, but a willingness to face them together with love, respect, and dependence on God. The Bible teaches that a cord of three strands is not quickly broken, showing the importance of God being at the center of the relationship. Unity requires sincere communication, continual forgiveness, and humility to recognize that both spouses need to grow. When a marriage seeks the Lord, it finds a source of strength that enables it to overcome difficulty and enjoy the blessings of walking together. True unity is born when each spouse seeks to love, serve, and care for the other by following Christ’s example.
Practical application
Reflect today on the unity of your marriage and consider what actions you can take to strengthen the bond God established between you.
Prayer
Beloved Father, thank You for the gift of marriage and the purpose You have for this relationship. Help me build unity founded on Your love and truth. Teach me to listen, forgive, and support my husband or wife with a humble heart. Remove from us every form of pride, indifference, or attitude that may draw us apart. May our relationship be founded on You, and may our marriage reflect the love, commitment, and faithfulness that come from Christ. Amen.
