Unity Requires Humility
Humility is essential for maintaining unity because it helps us value others and seek the common good above our own interests.
Reflection
True unity requires a heart willing to set pride aside and recognize the value of those around us. The Bible teaches us to consider others above ourselves by following Christ’s example, who lived with an attitude of service and surrender. Many divisions arise when we seek to impose our will, defend our opinions, or place our interests above those of others. Humility does not mean thinking less of ourselves, but learning to see others with love and recognizing that we need to walk together. In the family, church, and our daily relationships, humility opens the way to listen, forgive, and build bridges. When Christ transforms our hearts, we can contribute to unity founded on love and service.
Practical application
Reflect today on how humility is influencing your relationships and consider which attitudes you need to surrender to God in order to promote greater unity.
Prayer
Beloved Father, thank You because in Christ You showed us the true example of humility and service. Help me leave pride behind and value more deeply the people You have placed in my path. Teach me to listen with a willing heart, serve in love, and seek unity before my own interests. Transform the way I relate to others and allow my life to reflect Christ’s character. May I become an instrument of peace, reconciliation, and unity wherever I go. Amen.
