God’s Thoughts Are Higher
God’s mind completely surpasses our understanding. His plans flow from perfect wisdom that sees beyond what our eyes can reach.
Reflection
One of the greatest tests of our trust in God occurs when His ways do not resemble ours. We expect certain answers, imagine specific outcomes, and think we know the best solution for our situations. But God sees the entire story, while we see only a small part of the present moment. Joseph would not have chosen the path of slavery and prison, but God was forming a story of salvation through circumstances that seemed incomprehensible. The disciples also did not understand the cross when Jesus was handed over, but what appeared to be defeat was the fulfillment of God’s eternal plan. His thoughts are higher because His perspective is perfect. Trusting Him means accepting that we will not always understand the process, but we can rest in the character of the One who directs our lives.
Practical application
Surrender to God a situation you do not fully understand and ask Him for the faith you need to trust His thoughts and plans.
Prayer
Beloved Father, I acknowledge that many times I want to understand everything before trusting You. Help me remember that Your mind is infinitely greater than mine and that Your plans are filled with wisdom and love. When I do not understand what You are doing, guard my heart from anxiety and teach me to rest in Your faithfulness. Give me humility to accept Your ways and firm faith to continue walking with You. Amen.
