Nothing Should Break Fellowship

5 min read
Colossians 3:13-14

Christian fellowship is strengthened when we learn to forgive, love, and preserve the unity Christ has given us.

Reflection

Fellowship among believers is a gift from God, but it also requires care and commitment. When different people walk together, differences, wounds, and difficult moments will inevitably arise. The Bible does not ignore this reality, but teaches us how to respond when conflict appears. Paul urges believers to bear with and forgive one another, using the forgiveness we have received from Christ as the model. This reveals that the foundation of our relationships should not be the perfection of people, but the grace of God. Many times, we allow pride, unforgiveness, or accumulated offenses to damage relationships God desires to restore. Jesus displayed a love that sought to reconcile, heal, and draw people near to the Father. When we understand how much we have been forgiven, we receive the ability to extend that same forgiveness to others. Unity does not mean differences will never exist, but that we decide Christ’s love is greater than our wounds. A strong community is not one where problems never arise, but one whose members seek restoration and keep Christ at the center of their relationships.

Practical application

Identify a relationship in which you need to apply forgiveness or reconciliation and take a step today under the guidance of Christ’s love.

Prayer

Beloved Father, thank You because in Christ I have received forgiveness I did not deserve and grace that transforms my life. Help me extend to others the same love You have shown me. Forgive me for the times I have allowed pride, resentment, or wounds to affect my relationships. Give me humility to seek reconciliation and a heart willing to forgive. May my relationships reflect the grace of Christ, and may I contribute to preserving the unity You desire among Your people. Amen.

To reflect on

Is there a wound, anger, or unforgiveness affecting the fellowship God desires to restore in my life?
