Do Not Let Doubt Draw You Away from God
Doubt can affect our trust in God, but He invites us to draw near with firm faith and a heart willing to depend on Him.
Reflection
Doubt is an experience many people face in their spiritual walk. Having questions or moments of uncertainty does not necessarily mean a lack of faith, but allowing doubt to govern our hearts can draw us away from trusting God. James compares the one who doubts to a wave of the sea driven and tossed by the wind, showing the instability produced when we depend more on our emotions than on the Lord’s promises. God desires us to bring our doubts before Him and find security in His character. Mature faith is not built because we have every answer, but because we know the One in whom we have placed our trust. When we remain close to God through prayer and His Word, our faith is strengthened, and we learn to walk with greater security.
Practical application
Reflect today on the doubts that have affected your trust in God and surrender them to Him, trusting in His faithfulness.
Prayer
Beloved Father, thank You because You are a near God who hears my questions and knows my struggles. Help me when doubt tries to weaken my faith and teach me to trust Your promises more than my own thoughts. Strengthen my heart, increase my confidence in You, and help me remain firm even when I do not have all the answers. May my relationship with You grow each day, and may my faith remain stable because it is founded on Your truth. Amen.
