Obeying the Lord Jesus

Obedience to Jesus does not arise from fear, but from a heart that recognizes His love and desires to respond faithfully.

Reflection

Many times, we view obedience as a heavy obligation or a list of rules we must follow to please God. But Jesus showed a different perspective: true obedience is born from love. When we know who Christ is and understand what He did for us, our natural response begins to change. We no longer obey in an attempt to earn acceptance, but because we have already received His grace. The disciples learned that following Jesus meant hearing His words and putting them into practice, even when His teachings challenged their own desires. Obedience to Christ does not mean we will never struggle, but that our hearts are willing to surrender to His will. Every act of obedience is an expression of love and trust toward the One who knows what is best for our lives.

Lord Jesus, thank You because Your love showed me a better way to live. Help me not see obedience as a burden, but as a response of love toward You.
