Abiding in the Love of Christ
Jesus invites us not only to receive His love, but to remain daily in a deep relationship with Him.
Reflection
One of Jesus’ greatest invitations is to abide in His love. This means living aware that we are loved by Him and allowing that love to transform the way we think and act. Many times, we know the truth of God’s love but live as though we had to earn it again each day. We withdraw when we fail or try to prove our worth through our achievements. Jesus reminds us that our spiritual life begins and remains in His love. Abiding in Christ means cultivating a constant relationship with Him through prayer, His Word, and obedience. Obedience is not a way to obtain love, but a response to the love we have already received. When we remain close to Jesus, His love begins to shape our decisions, relationships, and character.
Practical application
Find a moment today to remain in Christ’s presence through prayer and the reading of His Word, without hurry or distractions.
Prayer
Lord Jesus, I want to learn to abide in Your love each day. Many times I become distracted by worries, responsibilities, or attempts to prove my worth, forgetting that my identity is secure in You. Help me live close to Your heart, receive Your love, and allow that love to transform the way I live. May my obedience always flow from gratitude for what You have done for me. Amen.
