Putting God at the Center of Marriage
A marriage strengthened by God finds in Him the source of unity, direction, and strength for every stage of life.
Reflection
A marriage cannot be sustained only by feelings, human abilities, or good intentions; it needs a deeper foundation that remains firm through change and difficulty. The Bible teaches that a cord of three strands is not quickly broken, showing the importance of including God as the central part of the relationship. When a couple seeks the Lord together, they learn to make decisions wisely, face conflict humbly, and grow in love. Putting God at the center means allowing His principles to guide the way they communicate, forgive, and serve one another. A marriage that walks with God is not free from challenges, but it has a source of strength beyond its own abilities. When Christ holds first place, the relationship finds direction, purpose, and a stronger foundation.
Practical application
Reflect today on the place God holds within your marriage and consider what actions can help strengthen your spiritual relationship as a couple.
Prayer
Beloved Father, thank You because You are the foundation that can sustain our marriage. Help us always place You at the center of our relationship and seek Your direction before making decisions. Teach us to love patiently, forgive humbly, and serve one another by following Christ’s example. Strengthen our bond, guide our home, and allow our marriage to reflect Your love and purpose. May we never forget that with You we can face every challenge. Amen.
