Regeneration is God’s work through which He gives us new spiritual life by the Holy Spirit.

Reflection

Salvation does not consist merely of changing certain outward behaviors, but of receiving a deep transformation that begins within us. The Bible teaches that this new life is a work of God carried out through the Holy Spirit. Paul reminds us that we were saved by God’s mercy and not by our own merit, showing that the new birth is a gift of grace. Regeneration changes our hearts, motives, and way of relating to God. We were once spiritually separated, but through Christ we received a new nature that enables us to live according to the Lord’s will. This transformation does not occur through human effort, but through the Holy Spirit working within us. Just as physical birth marks the beginning of a new life, spiritual birth marks the beginning of a new relationship with God. Regeneration is the beginning of an ongoing process in which the Lord continues forming our character and making us more like Christ.

Reflect today on the new life God has given you and allow the Holy Spirit to continue transforming the areas that need change.

Prayer

Beloved Father, thank You because through Your mercy You have given me new life by the Holy Spirit. Thank You because it did not depend on my own strength, but on Your transforming grace. Help me walk according to the new life You have placed within me and not return to former ways of living. Renew my heart, guide my thoughts, and form the character of Christ within me. May my life be evidence of the work You have accomplished in my inner being. Amen.
