Serving with the Gifts God Gives

God has placed gifts within every believer so they may be used to serve others and glorify His name.

Reflection

God does not only call us to receive His grace, but also to become instruments through whom that grace reaches others. The Bible teaches that every believer has received gifts from God, not for personal pride, but to serve and build up those around us. These gifts can be expressed in different ways: teaching, helping, encouraging, showing mercy, leading, or using our abilities to bless others. Recognizing our gifts requires humility because we understand that nothing we have comes solely from our own effort, but from God’s generosity. It also requires responsibility because we are stewards of what He has entrusted to us. Many times, we compare ourselves with others and think our contribution is small, but God does not measure service by visibility, but by the faithfulness with which we use what He gave us. When we serve through our gifts, we participate in God’s work and show His love in practical ways. The purpose of our talents is not to exalt our name, but to reflect the goodness of the One who gave them.

Identify a gift, ability, or resource God has given you and find a specific way to use it to bless someone.

Prayer

Beloved Father, thank You because in Your love You have placed abilities and gifts within my life. Help me not compare myself with others or seek personal recognition, but understand that everything I have comes from You. Teach me to faithfully steward what You have entrusted to me and to use my gifts with humility and love. May my service be an expression of Your grace, and may people see Your goodness through what I do. Amen.
