A Life Renewed Every Day

The regeneration God begins continues through daily renewal in which He transforms our inner being and strengthens our spiritual life.

Reflection

God’s work within us does not end when we receive new life in Christ. Regeneration marks the beginning of an ongoing process of transformation in which the Lord continues renewing our hearts, thoughts, and character. Paul taught that although our outward being may experience weariness and difficulty, our inward being can be renewed day by day through God’s work. This renewal is necessary because we still live in a world where we face struggles, temptations, and challenges that require continual dependence on the Lord. God not only saves us from the past, but also works in our present to make us more like Christ. Spiritual renewal takes place as we remain close to God through His Word, prayer, and the guidance of the Holy Spirit. Each day, we have the opportunity to allow Him to transform what needs to be changed within us. The Christian life is not an instant and complete transformation, but a continual walk in which God keeps shaping our character and strengthening our faith.

Identify an area of your life in which you need to experience renewal from God and surrender it to Him in prayer.

Prayer

Beloved Father, thank You because Your work in my life does not stop and because each day You can renew me through Your Spirit. Help me not depend only on my own strength, but continually seek Your presence and direction. Transform my thoughts, strengthen my heart, and help me grow in the character of Christ. Forgive me for the times I have allowed difficulties to weaken my faith. May I experience Your renewal each day and reflect Your love and grace more clearly. Amen.
