Living Securely under God’s Refuge
God offers a security that does not depend on problems disappearing, but on remaining close to Him.
Reflection
Psalm 91 presents the image of a person who finds rest under the shadow of Almighty God. This image speaks of closeness, protection, and trust. Dwelling in God’s refuge does not mean visiting His presence only in moments of emergency, but developing a constant relationship with Him. Many times, we seek security in things that can change: our health, possessions, position, or even the approval of others. But everything that depends on circumstances can disappear. God, however, remains faithful. Living under His refuge means building our life on a deeper trust: the certainty that we are under the care of a Father who knows every detail. That security does not eliminate every difficulty, but it allows us to walk in peace because we know who sustains our life.
Practical application
Examine what things have been giving you security lately, and surrender to God anything you have been placing above Him.
Prayer
Lord, thank You because in Your presence I find a security the world cannot offer. Help me stop depending on temporary things that can change, and teach me to remain close to You. May my heart find rest under Your care, and may I live each day trusting in Your protection, faithfulness, and love. Amen.
