Praise as Spiritual Strength

Praise · 5 min read

And when they began to sing and to praise, the LORD set ambushments against the children of Ammon, Moab, and mount Seir, which were come against Judah; and they were smitten. {And when...: Heb. And in the time that they, etc} {to sing...: Heb. in singing and praise} {they were...: or, they smote one another}
2 Chronicles 20:22

Introduction

Praise strengthens our spirit and helps us trust God’s power even when facing life’s battles.

Reflection

The Bible shows us that praise can become an expression of faith in the midst of struggle. When the people of Judah faced an impossible situation, God taught them that victory did not depend only on their strength, but on trusting Him. As they praised, God acted on their behalf and displayed His power. Praise is not a formula for avoiding problems, but a way of declaring that God remains sovereign over our circumstances. When we worship in difficulty, our hearts are strengthened and our trust in the Lord increases. Praise reminds us that we do not face our battles alone because God remains with us and is in control.

Practical application

Reflect today on the battles you are facing and allow praise to strengthen your faith and trust in God.

Prayer

Beloved Father, thank You because You are my strength in every battle I face. Help me respond with praise instead of fear and trust Your power when circumstances seem difficult. May my heart always remember that You fight for me and that Your presence is greater than any problem. Strengthen my faith and teach me to honor You even in the midst of trials. Amen.

For reflection
Am I facing my battles with fear, or am I allowing praise to strengthen my trust in God?
