Resting in the Father’s Love

God's Love · 5 min read

Come unto me, all {ye} that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.
Matthew 11:28

Introduction

God not only calls us to know His love, but to rest in it, leaving behind the burdens we have tried to carry alone.

Reflection

Many times, we live exhausted because we try to solve everything through our own strength. We carry worries, guilt, expectations, and responsibilities that gradually wear down our hearts. But Jesus invites us to come to Him and find true rest. Resting in the Father’s love does not mean that every problem disappears, but that we stop facing them alone. It means trusting that God sustains us, knows us deeply, and continues working even when we do not have all the answers. When we understand that we are loved by God, we can stop living under pressure and begin walking in the peace that comes from His presence.

Practical application

Take a few minutes today to surrender to God whatever is making your heart weary. Allow His love to become a place of rest and security.

Prayer

Beloved Father, today I come before You with everything that weighs on my heart. Many times, I try to carry my worries, fears, and responsibilities alone, but You invite me to rest in Your love. Help me trust in Your care and remember that my worth does not depend on what I achieve, but on the fact that I am Your beloved child. Renew my strength, bring peace to my mind, and teach me to walk each day in the security of Your presence. Amen.

For reflection
Am I resting in God’s love and care, or am I still trying to carry the burdens of my life alone?
