God calls us to trust Him above our ability to understand every situation.
The desire for control can become one of the greatest barriers to fully trusting God. We feel secure when we can explain everything, anticipate outcomes, and have clear plans, but life constantly reminds us that our knowledge is limited. The Bible does not invite us to stop thinking or making responsible decisions, but to recognize that our wisdom will never be enough without God’s direction. Abraham had to leave his land without fully knowing the destination to which God would lead him. His obedience was not based on having all the answers, but on trusting the One who guided him. In the same way, God calls us to walk by faith, understanding that His plans are better than our limited perspective. When we stop relying only on our own understanding, we find freedom to rest in the wisdom of a Father who knows our path perfectly.
Identify a decision or concern where you have tried to keep everything under control and surrender it to God in prayer.
Lord, help me trust You with all my heart. Many times, I want to depend on my own experience, plans, and understanding, forgetting that You see far beyond what I can see. Give me humility to seek Your direction and faith to follow Your ways even when I do not have all the answers. Teach me to rest in Your wisdom and remember that Your plans are always better than mine. Amen.
