The cross is the greatest evidence that we can fully trust God, because in Christ we see how far His love for us reaches.
Trust in God is not built only by observing what He does for us, but by remembering who He is. In moments when doubts arise, we can look to the cross and find the greatest proof of His faithfulness. God gave His own Son for our salvation; if He was willing to give us what was most precious, we can trust that He will also care for every aspect of our lives according to His will. Many times, our trust weakens because we evaluate God’s love according to our present circumstances. If things go as we expect, we feel God is near; but when we face difficulties, we begin to question Him. Christ reminds us that God’s love was demonstrated definitively. The cross teaches us that even when we do not understand the process, we can trust the Father’s heart.
Meditate today on the cross of Christ and remember one specific evidence of God’s faithfulness in your life.
Beloved Father, thank You because in Christ You have shown me the greatest love I could receive. When my circumstances make me doubt, help me look again to the cross and remember that You have already demonstrated Your faithfulness. Teach me to trust Your heart even when I do not understand Your ways. May my faith not depend only on what I receive, but on the security of knowing that I belong to a God who loves me deeply. Amen.
