The gift of wisdom is an ability given by the Holy Spirit to understand and apply God’s truth in a way that blesses others.
Wisdom from God is different from human knowledge because it is not based only on information, but on the ability to understand and apply the Lord’s principles according to His will. The Bible teaches that the Holy Spirit grants the gift of wisdom for the benefit of the church and to help others make decisions guided by God. This gift enables a person to see situations from a spiritual perspective and respond with understanding, prudence, and discernment. Spiritual wisdom does not seek personal recognition, but service and the edification of others. Those who receive this gift are called to use it humbly, recognizing that all true wisdom comes from God. When the Lord’s wisdom guides our words and actions, we can become instruments that bring direction, counsel, and spiritual growth.
Reflect today on the importance of seeking God’s wisdom and consider how you can depend more on the Holy Spirit to make decisions and counsel others.
Beloved Father, thank You because You are the source of all wisdom and because through Your Spirit You guide us according to Your will. Help me seek Your direction before trusting only in my own understanding. If You have given me abilities to counsel and help others, teach me to use them with humility and love. Remove every form of pride and allow every word and decision to reflect Your truth. May my life become an instrument that brings wisdom, direction, and blessing to those around me. Amen.
