Hope › Devotionals › Hope
Jesus does not merely bring hope; He Himself is the hope that sustains our present life and our eternal future.
The world’s hope is often based on favorable circumstances: that a problem will end, a situation will improve, or a dream will come true. Although those things can bring joy, they are temporary and can change. The hope we find in Christ is different because it is founded on a Person who never changes. Jesus came to restore our relationship with God, overcome sin, and open the way to eternal life. When our hope is in Him, we stop depending entirely on what happens around us. This does not mean we stop facing difficulties, but that we have a deeper security: our story is in the hands of a faithful Savior. The first disciples faced persecution, loss, and difficult moments, yet they remained steadfast because their hope was not in circumstances, but in the risen Christ.
Meditate today on one reason Jesus is your hope and thank Him for what He has done in your life.
Lord Jesus, thank You because You are the hope my heart needs. Help me not build my security on temporary things that can change. When I face uncertainty, remind me that my future is secure in You and that no circumstance can take away the hope I have in Your love. May my life reflect the trust and joy of those who have found eternal hope in You. Amen.
