The wife’s role within marriage is part of God’s design and is founded on love, respect, and mutual commitment. The Bible teaches that marriage should function according to principles of surrender and service, where both spouses seek to honor God and care for the relationship He established. A wife’s role is not defined only by outward responsibilities, but by the attitude of heart with which she loves, supports, and builds her home. The virtuous woman described in Scripture shows that a wife after God’s heart combines wisdom, strength, love, and the fear of the Lord. When a wife seeks God, her influence can bring blessing to the marriage and the spiritual atmosphere of the home. Her value does not depend only on what she does, but on who she is before God and the purpose He has given her.
