A Stable Life in God’s Word

Stability · 5 min read

Therefore whosoever heareth these sayings of mine, and doeth them, I will liken him unto a wise man, which built his house upon a rock:
Matthew 7:24

Introduction

God teaches us that a stable life is built on His Word and obedience to His principles.

Reflection

Spiritual stability is not achieved by avoiding difficulty, but by building our lives on a foundation that can remain when storms come. Jesus taught that the person who hears His words and puts them into practice is like a wise person who built a house on the rock. Circumstances may change, plans may be affected, and problems may appear unexpectedly, but a life founded on God can remain firm. God’s Word guides, corrects, strengthens, and helps us make decisions according to His will. When we build only on our emotions, opinions, or circumstances, our stability can easily be affected. But when we allow God to be our foundation, we find security that remains even through change.

Practical application

Reflect today on the foundation upon which you are building your life and ask God what areas need to be more aligned with His Word.

Prayer

Beloved Father, thank You because Your Word is a firm foundation for my life. Help me not build my security on temporary things that can change, but on Your promises and eternal principles. Teach me to hear Your voice and put into practice what You teach me. Strengthen my faith, guide my decisions, and allow my life to remain firm even when difficulties come. May every area of my life be built on You. Amen.

For reflection
Am I only hearing God’s Word, or am I truly building my life on it through obedience?
