God’s Faithfulness in the Midst of Waiting

God's Faithfulness · 5 min read

Rest in the LORD, and wait patiently for him: fret not thyself because of him who prospereth in his way, because of the man who bringeth wicked devices to pass. {Rest in: Heb. Be silent to}
Psalm 37:7

Introduction

Waiting can be one of the greatest tests of our faith, but it can also become a place where we discover God’s faithfulness more deeply.

Reflection

When we are waiting for an answer, an opportunity, restoration, or the fulfillment of a promise, it is easy to feel that time is moving too slowly. In those moments, our hearts may wonder whether God is truly working. Yet the Bible teaches us that seasons of waiting are never wasted when they are in God’s hands. While we wait for an external answer, God is often doing an internal work: strengthening our patience, shaping our character, and teaching us to depend more on Him. Abraham had to wait, David had to wait, and many men and women of faith discovered that God’s timing always had a purpose. The Lord’s faithfulness is not measured by how quickly He responds, but by the certainty that He never fails to accomplish His plans. Even in silence, God remains present.

Practical application

Surrender to God what you are waiting for and ask Him to help you trust His process while His answer comes.

Prayer

Lord, help me wait without losing hope. When I see no progress and my patience grows weak, remind me that You are still working even when I cannot see it. Strengthen my heart to trust Your timing and teach me to value what You are forming in me during this season. Thank You because Your faithfulness remains even while I wait. In Jesus’ name. Amen.

What is God forming in me while I wait for what has not yet arrived?
