The Holy Spirit works within us to sanctify us, set us apart for God, and form Christ’s character in our lives.
Sanctification is the process through which God transforms the believer to become more like Christ. The Bible teaches that this work is carried out by the Holy Spirit, who works within us to renew our thoughts, desires, and actions according to God’s will. Sanctification does not happen instantly, but is an ongoing process in which we learn to leave behind what draws us away from the Lord and live in obedience. The Holy Spirit convicts, guides, and strengthens us to grow in holiness, not through our own ability, but through God’s grace and power. As we walk with Him, our lives begin to reflect Christ’s character more clearly and our purpose as God’s children.
Reflect today on the process of transformation God is carrying out in your life and consider which areas you need to surrender in order to grow in holiness.
Beloved Father, thank You because through Your Holy Spirit You are working in my life to transform me according to Christ’s character. Help me cooperate with Your work and surrender the areas that still need to change. Strengthen my desire to live in obedience and teach me to walk closer to You each day. Remove everything that draws me away from Your will and allow my life to reflect Your holiness, love, and grace. May I grow more each day as Your child and honor You through the way I live. Amen.
