Humility is God’s call to recognize our dependence on Him and value others by following Christ’s example.
Humility is one of the most important qualities in the Christian life because it reflects Christ’s heart. The Bible teaches us not to seek only our own interests, but to consider others with love and respect. Jesus showed the greatest expression of humility by leaving His glory, coming into the world to serve, and giving His life for us. True humility does not mean thinking less of ourselves, but recognizing that everything we are and have comes from God. A humble heart is willing to learn, receive correction, serve, and depend on the Lord in every area of life. When we walk in humility, we make room for God to work within us and use our abilities not to exalt ourselves, but to bless others.
Reflect today on the attitude of your heart and consider whether you are allowing Christ’s humility to transform the way you see God, others, and yourself.
Beloved Father, thank You because in Christ You showed me the true meaning of humility. Help me leave pride behind and everything that keeps me from depending completely on You. Teach me to serve lovingly, listen with a willing heart, and value the people You have placed in my path. May my life not seek personal recognition, but reflect Your character and honor Your name. Form within me a humble heart that can be used for Your purposes. Amen.
