A life of purity strengthens our relationship with God and allows us to walk in deeper intimacy with Him.
Purity is not merely outward conduct, but the expression of a heart that desires to draw closer to God. The psalmist asks who may stand in the Lord’s presence and answers by speaking of clean hands and a pure heart. This shows us that God seeks a genuine relationship in which our inner lives are transformed. Lust and disordered desires can affect our spiritual fellowship because they draw our hearts away from what pleases God. Yet the Lord offers grace and power to live a life set apart for Him. Purity helps us develop a conscience more sensitive to God’s voice and enjoy a deeper relationship with His presence. When we pursue holiness, we do not do so to earn God’s love, but as a response to the love we have already received.
Reflect today on how your life of purity affects your fellowship with God and seek to draw nearer to His presence.
Beloved Father, thank You because You allow me to draw near to You and desire a deep relationship with me. Purify my heart and help me live with thoughts, desires, and actions that honor You. Forgive me for the times I have allowed wrong things to occupy the place only You deserve. Strengthen my spiritual life and teach me to walk in holiness, enjoying Your presence more each day. Amen.
