The Mind of Christ Is Humble

Mind of Christ · 5 min read

Let this mind be in you, which was also in Christ Jesus:
Philippians 2:5

Introduction

Jesus showed us that true greatness is born from a humble heart willing to serve and obey God.

Reflection

In a world where position, recognition, and personal importance are often highly valued, Jesus showed a completely different way. Although He had all authority and was God Himself, He chose the position of a servant and gave His life for others. Christ’s humility was not a sign of weakness, but a perfect expression of love and obedience. Having the mind of Christ means allowing our way of thinking to be transformed by His example. It means no longer living while always seeking our own interests and learning to consider others with love and compassion. Biblical humility does not mean thinking less of ourselves, but recognizing that everything we are comes from God and that our life has a purpose greater than our own comfort. When Christ forms His character within us, we begin to serve with a different heart.

Practical application

Observe a situation in which you normally seek recognition and ask God to form Christ’s humility within you.

Prayer

Lord Jesus, thank You because You showed me perfect humility. Forgive me for the times I seek recognition, insist on being right, or place my interests above those of others. Form Your way of thinking within me and teach me to serve with love, patience, and simplicity. May my life reflect Your humble heart, and may people see more of You in the way I act. Amen.

For reflection
Does the way I live reflect Christ’s humility, or is it more influenced by the desire for personal recognition?
