God does not only want us to know Christ; He wants to form in us a way of thinking that reflects His character.
Having the mind of Christ means much more than knowing information about Jesus. It means allowing our way of seeing life to be transformed by His example. Jesus thought from the Father’s perspective: with love toward others, humility in service, obedience in difficulty, and trust in God’s purpose. Many times, our way of thinking is marked by selfishness, the need for recognition, or the desire to control circumstances. But Christ shows us a different path. Paul taught that we should have the same mind that was in Jesus, who, though He was God, took the position of a servant and gave His life out of love. Thinking like Christ does not happen overnight; it is a process in which the Holy Spirit forms our character. Every decision, reaction, and attitude is an opportunity to ask ourselves: Does this reflect the way Jesus would respond?
When you face a difficult situation today, pause before reacting and ask yourself how Christ would respond in that circumstance.
Lord Jesus, I want my mind to be transformed so that I reflect You more. Forgive me for the times I have allowed pride, selfishness, or my own emotions to govern my thoughts. Form Your character in me and teach me to look at people, problems, and decisions through Your eyes. May my way of thinking be shaped by Your love, humility, and obedience to the Father. Amen.
