Being born of God means receiving a new identity that does not come from our merit, but from the Father’s supernatural work within us.
The Bible presents a truth that completely changes the way we understand who we are: our deepest identity is not determined by our origin, abilities, achievements, or circumstances, but by the work God carries out within us. John explains that those who receive Christ receive the privilege of becoming children of God, but this new identity is not born from human effort or merely an outward decision; it is born from God Himself. Being born of God means that we have received new spiritual life and have been brought into a different relationship with our Creator. This transformation changes the way we see the past because we are no longer defined by our mistakes; it changes the way we face the present because we walk as beloved children; and it changes the way we view the future because we have eternal hope. God’s children are called to reflect their Father’s character and live according to the new life they received by grace.
Remember today that your primary identity is found in belonging to God, not in what the world, your mistakes, or your circumstances say about you.
Beloved Father, thank You because through Christ You have given me a new identity as Your child. Thank You because my value does not depend on my achievements, failures, or the opinions of others, but on Your love and the work You have done within me. Help me live aware that I belong to You. Renew my thoughts, strengthen my faith, and teach me to reflect Your character as someone born of God. May my life display the transformation Your grace produced within me. Amen.
